This system analysis is done on the management simulation game RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. It serves to demonstrate my ability to break down and understand the interactions of a system-driven game, including core gameplay loop, resource management and player progression. It also frames inputs, outputs, feedback loops and decision points in a visual manner.
While the FigJam board serves to provide an overall perspective on the systems governing the game, there is raw data underpinning these game systems. It was an additional challenge of mine to gather this information and translate it into .json format to not only be translated efficiently into the game, but also provide a seamless and interactive dashboard for data visualisation. This provides a relationship model that assists in communicating logic for system scale, pacing and balancing.
