Impromptu is an app developed to help young adults connect through shared interests and activities. In a time where loneliness is increasingly common, Impromptu strives to make it easier to discover and create group activities to meet like-minded people without the pressure of forced socialising.
Impromptu was crafted with a unique drop-in, drop-out concept in mind. Based on market research, our team understood that there was a distinct need for a service that prompts activity participation in a non-committal frame. We sought to ease users into the experience by lowering the barrier to participation to encourage users to step out of their comfort zone and turn everyday interests into meaningful social experiences.
Impromptu had to be developed within a tight time-frame, making it critical to establish strong foundations from the start. We focused on user research to guide early decisions before proceeding to rapid iteration with low and subsequently medium fidelity prototyping. This allowed ideas to be tested, refined, and validated quickly to ensure that the product addressed real user needs before moving into full development.
