Unlike surrounding cities, Los Altos did not have sustainable building electrification codes.
Joined coalition to promote Los Altos Reach Codes and succeeded in passing a version of the codes!
We successfully promoted Reach Codes to Los Altos City Council. Audrey contacted the Los Altos Environmental Commission, as well as Cheryl Weiden and Connie Miller, to discuss how to present this issue to council. Audrey also worked with GreenTown Los Altos on the Reach Code Facts website. Audrey and Margaret presented about Reach Codes to Carbon Free Mountain View and received valuable advice on how to influence the decision of Los Altos City Council. Audrey, Margaret, and Annika spoke at the City Council meeting in September 2020, advocating for Reach Codes. The Los Altos City Council has since adopted a version of Reach Codes!
