Go Kavemen!!
Coach Holmes is entering her 5th season leading the Kuna program, bringing a proven commitment to excellence both on and off the court. She is driven by a mission to develop strong, disciplined, and confident student-athletes who succeed long after graduation.
Coach Holmes has a proven track record of building successful programs. Her coaching journey began at Jerome High School in 2007 as an assistant, with a 4A 3rd-place State finish. Holmes then took over the Vallivue High School program in 2009, culminating in a 5A SIC District Championship title and state tournament appearance just two seasons later in 2012.
Under Coach Holmes's guidance, the KHS program emphasizes core values that build character:
Integrity: doing the right thing because it is the right thing.
Discipline: Instilling the work ethic and focus needed to achieve goals.
Confidence: Empowering athletes to believe in their abilities.
Unity: Fostering an environment where mutual respect and shared goals drive success.
Coach Holmes firmly believes success starts in the classroom. An Idaho native, she established high standards early on, graduating as Valedictorian and earning the Senior of the Year award from Jerome High School. As a driven multi-sport athlete, she knows what it takes to compete, having played in two state championship games during her high school career. She went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Gonzaga University and later earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Idaho. This commitment to lifelong learning and academic rigor is a foundational priority she instills in every student-athlete in the Kuna program.
Coach Holmes has built an incredibly experienced staff that is well-connected at all levels of the game, providing student-athletes with unparalleled mentorship and exposure. The KHS staff includes former State Champions, both as players and coaches, bringing firsthand knowledge of what it takes to win a title. With three former Division I assistant coaches on the coaching staff, the team benefits from daily instruction and development that mirrors the intensity, strategy, and preparation at the next level. This collective experience translates into a broad network and a deeper understanding, giving Kuna players a distinct advantage in the recruiting process.
Coach Holmes lives in Kuna with her husband, Ryan, an experienced NCAA DI Men's Basketball Official, whose career gives her a unique perspective on high-level competition and officiating. Together, they are raising their three daughters. Her family's support and local connection fuel her passion for building a program the community can be proud of.
