In this committee, delegates will act as members of the United States Senate during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After US intelligence revealed the presence of Soviet-owned nuclear missiles in Cuba, many see this as a boiling point that could lead to higher tensions or even all-out nuclear war. Relations between the US and USSR are at an all-time low, and delegates must find a way to mediate this conflict before it destroys the country they have worked so hard to protect. This high-stakes environment will require collaboration across party lines and decisive action.
Dear Delegates,
My name is Isaac Becker, I’m currently a sophomore at U-High and this is my second year doing Model UN. This year for LABMUNC I will be chairing US Senate! My favorite part about MUN is learning how to collaborate with different people, understanding how to work as a team to create a collective paper and the sense of relief that comes with turning it in. Outside of MUN, I enjoy playing soccer and the saxophone both in and out of school. Through this committee, I hope to see meaningful collaboration and nuanced perspectives to this challenging issue.
Best,
Isaac Becker
