In this committee, delegates will work to combat transnational organized crime on the dark web, evaluating current initiatives to mitigate this globally pressing issue and discussing the next steps the international community must take. To achieve this, delegates must collaborate to create feasible and innovative solutions to reduce the detrimental effects of transnational organized crime on the dark web.
Dear Delegates,
My name is Owen Hannan, and I’m a sophomore here at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. I’ve been involved in Model UN for over a year, and I’m extremely excited to be chairing UNODC this session. Outside of MUN, I am a member of the Junior Economics Club of Chicago, a participant in a variety of political science initiaves such as a criminal justice program at Princeton, and an active volunteer. Currently, I am spending my summer tutoring refugees, where I work with students from 1st to 5th grade to support their reading, writing, and math skills. As Chair of the UNODC Committee, I hope to create an engaging and collaborative environment, where delegates can work towards finding viable solutions to the issues at hand. I aim to encourage thoughtful debate and respectful discussion that leads to innovative yet practical ideas.
Best,
Owen Hannan
