Welcome to Garuda Airlines!
I am your flight attendant, Lorraine G. Lab-oyan. Allow me to share my reflection on my 25-day memorable stay in Solo.
First, I discovered the beauty of cultural diversity through respect for other people’s traditions. As a pre-service teacher deployed in an Islamic school, I manifested this respect by wearing a hijab as a gesture of honor toward their religion.
Second, I was able to instill a sense of nationalism by sharing my own culture with my Grade 5 pupils and buddies. I also fostered camaraderie and compassion with my fellow exchange student companions by cooking breakfast for them and socializing together. Likewise, I extended this cultural exchange to our buddies by teaching them some Filipino words and expressions they might eventually use when they visit the Philippines.
Lastly, I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to be an exchange student and to learn from my cooperating teacher, college supervisor, buddies, and fellow exchange companions. Beyond the insights I gained, I truly enjoyed my time with the people and the place, making this journey a meaningful and unforgettable chapter in my life.
Terima kasih!
