If you have a contract with DS, please contact them IMMEDIATELY to schedule your exam there. They require a week advanced notice, so you must contact them BEFORE Monday 4/29/19. Of course under extraordinary circumstances, your instructor can offer a make-up exam.
Conflicts with exams:
If you have a documented conflict for one of the exams, in order to take the make-up exam you must give your instructor and the course chair Rob Kusner profkusner@gmail.com at least one week’s written notice for a midterm exam and at least two weeks’ written notice for the final exam. Your instructor and the course chair will evaluate your request and your instructor will arrange for the make-up. Other make-up exams (for example due to medical emergencies) will be handled directly by your section instructor. Make-up exams will not be given to accommodate travel plans.
Textbook and On-line Homework:

Written Homework:
There will be weekly written homework assignments due each Friday at the beginning of class. These assignments will be graded on logical flow as well as mathematical correctness. The first assignment will be due on 2/8. That is to say, please write neatly and concisely. Using a pencil is also a good idea as long the grader can read it. Late homework are not accepted and there will be no make-up homework. The homework with the lowest score will be dropped of the final homework grade.
Collaboration in homework is encouraged . However you must write your own solutions. If you collaborate in homework make sure you understand the solution and write it in your own words. A good rule of thumb for this is that you should be able to write down the solution by yourself without notes from the discussion even a few hours later. Please write the names of your collaborators at the end. If you use help from the internet please acknowledge this. Such problems will be graded 8.5/10. In mathematics it is also important to know when one is wrong. If you explain clearly why a solution is wrong or incomplete and what needs to be done to fix it or complete it this will be worth 1/10.
