本作品は、金魚が不在の金魚鉢が脚を持ち、自律的に移動していく装置です。

金魚鉢の下には電子部品とその基板が収められており、アルミ棒で構成されたリンク機構の脚を持ちます。金魚鉢は水を湛え、金魚は不在のままです。金魚の居た頃を思い出すのは人間の仕業でしょう。有り合わせの素材で不安定に歩く様は、都市を生きる私たちを想起させます。

金魚鉢が金魚の棲家であったのは昔のこと、今や家主を失い、移動のための脚を抱えています。歩き出す空き家は、自分を自分のための住処ともできますし、新たな家主を探しに彷徨うこともできます。

This work is a device in which a goldfish bowl, now without its goldfish, has grown legs and begins to move on its own.

Beneath the bowl are electronic components and circuit boards, connected to a set of aluminum link-mechanism legs. The bowl still holds water, yet no fish remains within. To recall the time when a goldfish once lived there is, perhaps, a distinctly human act. Its precarious gait, assembled from makeshift parts, calls to mind the way we, too, navigate life in the city.

The bowl was once a dwelling for a goldfish. Now, bereft of its inhabitant, it carries only legs for wandering. This empty house that walks may become a shelter for itself—or else, it may roam in search of a new resident.
