KEREM YILDIRIM
Hi! I am an assistant professor at Bilkent University's Department of Political Science and Public Administration.
My research focuses on the effect of various formal and informal institutions and socioeconomic structures on party-voter linkages, political competition, and political behavior.
You can find some of my published work on this website. My research aims to explain how informal linkages influence political behavior and attitudes. I am currently working on the Democratic Accountability and Linkages Project. I am finalizing my book, "Continuous Clientelism: Persuasion and Preference Change in Turkey," which focuses on the relationship between clients, brokers, patrons and continuity in political linkages. In this book project, I employ various original datasets and experiments to show that clientelism brings recipients closer to their party’s policy positions.
