KVALEdit ("the app", "we", "us") is a photo-editing app for iPhone. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how you can control or delete it.
The short version: your photos never leave your device. There are no accounts and no servers of our own that receive your images. The only data that leaves your phone is advertising, analytics and crash information handled by Google services, described below — and advertising tracking happens only if you allow it.
The app is developed and operated by an individual developer, Aleksandre Bakidze. For any privacy question or request, contact support.kvaledit@gmail.com.
All editing — filters, cropping, text, stickers, frames, drawing, collages, retouching, object removal, lens blur, AI upscaling and background removal, which use on-device machine learning including Apple's Vision framework — happens locally on your iPhone. Your photos are never uploaded to us or to any server. We cannot see them.
To let you return to unfinished work, the app keeps the following in its own private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read: copies of photos you open for editing and of images you add as overlays; your drafts, presets, imported looks and settings, with small preview thumbnails; and cached results such as background-removal masks, photo analysis, depth maps and upscaled images.
This data stays on your device. A draft and its photo copies are removed when you delete the draft in the app; cached data is removed by "Clear cache" in Settings; everything is removed when you delete the app.
Some tools need to find faces and bodies in a photo: Retouch (skin, eyes, teeth, hair, and face and body shaping) and masks that select the sky. When you use one of them, the app measures where things are in that photo, such as the outline of a face, the position of the eyes and mouth, and the outline of a body.
This happens only on your iPhone, and only on photos you open in the app. The photo and the measurements are not sent to us or to anyone else.
The measurements are used only to apply your edits. The app does not recognise who is in a photo, does not compare faces, and does not use the measurements for identification, advertising or analytics.
They are kept in the app's private storage so you can reopen your work: face and body positions you have adjusted are saved inside the draft, and the analysis of the photo is saved in its cache. Deleting the draft or the app removes both; "Clear cache" in Settings removes the cached analysis.
Every permission is optional and requested only when you use the feature that needs it. You can change any of them later in the iPhone's Settings app → KVALEdit.
Photos — choosing a photo. Choosing a photo to edit, or photos for a Grid (collage), uses Apple's photo picker, which gives the app only the photos you select and needs no permission. The app never browses or reads your photo library.
Photos — saving. Finished images, and photos you take with the in-app camera, are added to your photo library. If you turn off "Keep the original" in Settings, the app offers to remove the original camera shot after you save an edited version; iOS asks you to confirm every removal. Removing a photo is the only reason the app asks for access to your photo library. The app only ever removes photos it took itself.
Camera (KVALECAM). Used only while the in-app camera is open, to show the viewfinder and take photos. Camera images are processed on your device and are never uploaded.
Tracking (App Tracking Transparency). The app asks whether it may use your device's advertising identifier to personalise ads. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the identifier is not shared and ads are not personalised with it.
The app uses the following Google services. They process data as described inGoogle's Privacy Policy and Firebase's privacy information.
Google AdMob — shows advertisements. Ads in KVALEdit are rewarded ads that appear only after you choose to watch one to unlock a feature; they are never shown unprompted. AdMob may collect the device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking), IP address, coarse location derived from it, device information and ad-interaction data, to serve, measure and personalise ads and to prevent fraud. See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
Google User Messaging Platform — shows the advertising-consent form where the law requires one, and stores your choice.
Firebase Analytics — app-usage statistics, such as which screens are opened and which features are used, to understand and improve the app. It is not linked to your identity.
Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error reports, including device model, iOS version and app version, so problems can be fixed. Not linked to your identity.
Firebase Remote Config — downloads configuration values, such as the minimum supported app version, so the app can be adjusted without an update.
Firebase Cloud Storage — used only to download sticker images into the app. Nothing is ever uploaded to it.
The depth model for lens blur is downloaded from Apple the first time you use it. Only the model comes to your iPhone; nothing about your photos is sent.
These Firebase services use an app-instance identifier to work; it identifies the installation, not you, and is reset when you delete the app.
We do not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts or photos through the app, and we do not sell your personal data. Google acts as our service provider for the services above and is bound by its own privacy commitments, which provide protection equal to or greater than this policy's.
Where the law requires it, the app shows Google's consent form before personalised ads can be served, and the advertising SDK is not started until your choice allows it. You can consent, refuse, or manage your choices, and change them at any time from Settings → Ad settings in the app.
Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
Data held by Google is kept for the periods set out in Google's and Firebase's policies; for example, Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.
Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to answer them.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete data about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because the app has no account or personal profile, most of your data is directly under your control:
Delete local data: delete drafts or clear the cache in the app, or delete the app.
Stop ad tracking: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Change ad consent: Settings → Ad settings in the app (where offered).
Withdraw photo or camera access: iPhone Settings → KVALEdit.
Any other request, including deletion of data held by our service providers:email support.kvaledit@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version.
