I am Tomotaka Kuroda. I grew up in Chiba, Japan until high school. I have been affiliated with Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo institute of technology) since my undergraduate and by the time I complete my Ph.D (4 year Bachelor + 2 year Master + 3 year Ph.D). In particular, I major in physics there and have worked on early cosomology in the Suyama Research Lab. under the supervision by Prof. Suyama Teruaki. I have also been supervised by Prof. Masahide Yamaguchi in CTPU-CGA group.
Outside of physics, I enjoy seeking out great food and drinks wherever I go. I also like exercising and playing all kinds of sports, especially basketball, which I have played for more than 15 years. I also enjoy recreational activities such as billiards and darts — I like to think my skill level is somewhere between professional and amateur.
Apr. 2025 - present Doctoral course, Ph.D candidate student @ Institute of Science Tokyo.
Apr. 2023 - Mar. 2025 Master in Physics. Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology).
Apr. 2019 - Mar. 2023 Bachelor in Physics. Tokyo Institute of Technology.
Apr. 2024 - present Student Research Assistant, hosted by Masahide Yamaguchi. Institute for Basic Science, Korea.

My main research area is inflationary cosmology, with a particular focus on nonlinear effects in cosmological perturbations. Through this work, I aim to explore fundamental physics beyond the Standard Model of particle physics and the standard cosmological model, including questions related to the origin of the universe.
In particular, I have been studying so-called stochastic inflation from both theoretical and observational perspectives. I am also working to clarify the quantum aspects of inflationary dynamics using techniques from quantum field theory and quantum information theory.
In addition, I am eager to learn about and investigate any topics or tools that can deepen my understanding of the universe. So far, I have acquired specialized knowledge of inflationary and cosmological perturbations from both quantum and classical perspectives, as well as advanced knowledge of early-universe cosmology, general relativity, and quantum field theory in curved spacetime.
