Namaskāram-s to all our readers!
From this 4th year of Kural, we have transformed Kural to a quarterly magazine with multiple articles on various topics. After April, this is the second issue of this year of Kural.
We had called out for interested writers and students to contribute articles on the theme of Sāhitya for this issue. This issue has very interesting articles by contributors who approached us through this invite. We express our gratitude to them.
Under general articles, we have Mahadevan S and Swamy M writing on the Lyrical beauty of the Samskṛtam compositions of Śrī Tyāgarāja, Parameswaran's article on the magnum opus Bhāvayāmi Raghurāmam and its specialities, Sivapriya Krishnan's article on Sanskrit compositions of Tyāgarāja - Gems of musical poetry and Madhumita Iyer's article on Carnatic Music's contribution to the freedom movement.
Many of the regular features of the Magazine are there as well.
Aarti PB continues on her Aavali series on Nava Vidha Bhakti in it's 5th Episode now. Veena Venkataramani takes us through Vidvān MS Gopalakrishnan's Hamir Kalyāṇī magic in the 'Innikku Enna Kekkalaam' section.
On our E-pilgrimage, Aniruddh Sankaran takes us to yet another unknown gem of a temple, the Śikanāthar Kōvil in Kuḍumiyānmalai. The recently concluded RTP Series in Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Chennai and especially the concert of Viduṣī Amritha Murali are summarised for us by Preeti Sethuraman in the Kutcheri Chronicles section.
The Laya 360 section by Madurai Karthik deals with the aesthetics of how the Mṛdaṅgam joins the concert stage and enhances it. We, ofcourse, have the fun Brain Benders section on the missing piece of lyrics from very famous Carnatic compositions.
We will be celebrating our Anniversary in Ragasudha Hall, Mylapore on Sunday, the 26th of July, 2026 at 10 AM. Vidvān Rajkumar Bharati has kindly consented to join us as the chief guest on this occasion, which will also consist of the prize distribution for the 3rd Kural Competitions and an interactive musical session by Dr. Rangapriya and Sri Pazhani Balaji. Do join us on this occasion.
We actively seek contributors who can write interesting articles from the perspective of students and researchers and request you to reach out to us over a mail to kural.emag@gmail.com.
We truly thank all our readers for your constant encouragement and feedback, and the regular readership. We again seek your help in spreading about the magazine and its work to anyone who might be interested.
Namaskāram.
