Setting/Raising the Bar high,
Vision & Impact
I would like to share a few 'small & important things' that matter most and help me in setting up the bar always high.
Vision & Roadmap: Setting the clear vision, OKR/goals and mutually agreeing checkpoints.
Guiding: Doing, Showing, and Sharing the Quality.
Responsive: Being available to the team in any situation.
Mentoring: Performance and Development goals.
Celebrate progress: with all, Accept failures & Not repeat the mistake.
Communication: Clarity and execution.
Listening to every voice and encouraging to voice out.
Adopting & Tailoring
Communication
My key principles for better communication with a globally diverse team are active listening, understanding the team members' abilities/personalities & accessing the situation then commenting.
In simple terms:
Diving deep into the problem/situation,
Staying unbiased,
Sticking to facts, and
Clear is kind while communicating
Also here is the framework that i follow for better communication: 1:1's
Johari window model
User Focus & People First
Collaboration
Setting up Strong Partnerships, Strategic Alignment and being Inclusive is very important at every level. Apart from this, my two primary responsibilities i.e,
Collaborating with the cross-disciplinary leadership teams
to quickly moving ideas from high-level product vision and strategy through road mapping, planning, and execution.
Within the design team & aligning respective stakeholders
Sometimes stepping into the micro level meetings for consistency in quality
by getting united in true partnerships with both cross-functional teams and their end users while solving particular problem.
How do I do that ?.. well, credit to my past work experiences & learnings from Tech, Biz, Marketing, Ops, etc .
Here is the framework that I follow, to make strong team collaboration:
As the empathy on our teams increases, the ease of collaboration increases.
collaborative framework
Develop empathy in the people on your team and continue to be intentional about looking for folks with unique perspectives as you grow.
Ownership, Risk management & Accountability of the team
Demonstrating a very high level of ownership in the work.
Not only identifying issues early and often, but also ensuring an action plan is in place.
Overseeing the progress with a lot more agency without requiring external support, nudges or motivation.
Planning and then in ensuring the designed plan remains on track in terms of deliverables and commitment.
Defining the principles
& Defending the design
Defining Good Design Principles & Brand Ethos.
Creating opportunities & Communicating across cross-functional teams.
Conducting and leading the design workshops
Actively implementing and defending them in the situations.
Educating and Maximising the reach to all the stakeholders
Minimizing the rework/errors and teaching it to all the design Levels
Even though you are equipped with every great tool, each situation will be different. Being sensible is the key.
When going gets tough, The tough get going
