A few simple Considerations & Constructive questions which guide me and the team towards decision making.
1.
This means, Going deeper into the problem and Creating order to the complexity.
It's not about just Minimalism Or The absence of clutters Or Simplifying visual style. By understanding deeply the essence of functions/features and getting rid of excessive communication/interactions.
This requires great collaboration from Tech, Biz, Operations, and other stakeholders related to the particular complexity.
2.
A digital screen becomes a canvas of Art, when each pixel combined to create a visual perception to communicate anything.
Though the meaning of beauty varies in the eyes of a human to a human, Several mathematicians declared close formulas to crack the logic for beauty.
These things work perfectly because,
"Every pixel, components, ratios, grids, entire design system, screen of digital device, coding algorithms everything evolves around the math"
Here are my two favorites while designing, you can refer more:
The number of perceptual “chunks” an average human can hold in working memory (a component of short-term memory) is 7 ± 2.
- Miller’s Law
If the two quantities ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities.
- Divine Proportion (Golden Ratio)
3.
Design with care. Each minor detail in the UI deserves close attention because, UX is the sum of all details working harmoniously
“The details are not the details.
They make the design"
Gestalt principles play a key role in shaping these details.
The classic principles of
Gestalt Theory sits at the heart of nearly everything we do graphically as designers.
These laws of human perception include: Similarity, Continuation, Closure, Proximity, Figure/Ground, Symmetry & Order
4.
It is important to create hierarchy, flow, rhythm, and balance in every composition. In the process, every element on a digital screen exerts a visual force that attracts the eye of the viewer.
"The greater the force, the more the eye is attracted"
Visual weight is a measure of the force that an element exerts to attract the eye.
These forces also appear to act on other elements, imparting a visual direction to their potential movement and suggesting where you should look next.
5.
UX writing has to resonate with users. Understandable and human-friendly enough in order to create a bond. It happens when a product being Clear, Honest, and Pure while interacting and communicating with users.
Honesty:
Should always stay true to the brand's voice and build empathy by using the right language by keeping users in mind in everything.
Compassion:
"How do you feel, when you meet or have a conversation with a human who is always ready to help you?"
How impactful it is on you?
After all, your ultimate goal is to help users figure out how to successfully use your product. In the process, speaking compassion builds great trust.
