I had the opportunity to lead this project as a part of leadership OKR-2023 and Worked with multiple cross-domain seasoned leaders in the process.
The main goal is to design and improve powerful tools, and frameworks for PayPal XD team that measure designers' progress, define a clear personal growth roadmap, and drive performance in an agile and transparent manner.
As an individual, designers should be able to use this document to identify where they are in the growth path, and gaps between their current level and the next level in their designated track.
For example, what are the core skills, behaviors and activities that a Junior designer might need to demonstrate to progress to a Mid-Level? Rather than working between several documents, the overview makes it easier, at a glance, to compare one level to the next.
For a manager or mentor, this document can help explore and shape an individual designer’s Personal Development Plan, unpacking the soft and hard skills they would need to develop and demonstrate to progress. Here they also look to identify any obvious deltas between one level and the next, to translate this into a set of timely and actionable development goals.
