Welcome to the Tunnel
Welcome to the KU Edwards Virtual Tunnel of Oppression. The Tunnel of Oppression is designed to bring awareness to the oppression or unjust treatment of people with marginalized identities. The scenarios you are about to experience will stimulate a visual, intellectual, and perhaps an emotional or uncomfortable response. If at any time during the experience you feel you cannot continue, please simply go on to the next room or exit to the "de-brief" room.
The purpose of this program is not to shock you, guilt you, offend you or scare you into believing the value of human rights. Rather, it is to provide an honest snapshot of what goes on it our world, both near and far, while offering moments of hope to move forward.
Oppression is found in many forms, passive or active, and affects marginalized people daily. The examples found in these rooms do not represent all oppressed identities, they are only selections from a greater list. Be aware that you might experience triggering content
