Chouette! Me voila.

I enjoy discovering things through my research, finding ways to improve my teaching, and extending service to my communities. Nevertheless, spending time outside these endeavors is equally loverly.

The theater is a big part of my high school life, and I have performed several interpretative, folk, and Muslim cultural dances with my ensemble. In college, I had the opportunity to play Lysander in our production of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and on another occasion, I played the role of Jason in Euripides' "Medea".

As far as I can remember, I have always enjoyed watching live musical theater and performances, too. I have watched Annie (at The Wang), Hairspray (at The Colonial), and Moulin Rouge (at The Boston Opera House) so far this year. I am yet to return to watch shows at BSO this season.

Slow. Mornings. Ahhh.

I am also a frustrated photographer. I channel this by posting the photos I like on my Instagram. Here are some photos I snapped with my handy-dandy camera phone...

My 21st birthday...

...was a part of my life that I'd never forget. My grandma passed away in October 2023, a day before her birthday, and I credit her for that once-in-a-lifetime experience. Perhaps similar to other cultures, Filipino men have their 'debut' (a coming-of-age celebration) on their 21st birthday. My celebration started from being a surprise birthday party to being featured at a news station in the US to having the news distributed and aired on Philippine national TV. The interest was primarily toward the two international athletes who ended up meeting at my birthday—but, since it was my birthday, my face was all over. What a riot. Loved my grandma dearly. https://youtu.be/VmE6HPdMvz8?si=7fo8z8bfOxewMB1g
