Well, this is embarrassing. We believe that some classified documents related to national security have been “taken home” to a security team member’s private residence (Mr. Paul N. Todd). And, to top it all off, this individual was just found dead. While there is nothing suspicious about Mr. Todd’s death, we would very much like to quietly retrieve the documents and get them back to the State Department for safe keeping. We will have access to Mr. Todd’s study tomorrow afternoon and we expect to find the documents in his personal safe, which is secured by a standard combination lock.
We looked for the safe combination in the obvious place and found two pieces of paper taped beneath a desk drawer. One piece of paper was standard engineering graph paper with a rectangular array of letters.
The other appeared to be a standard subway map of Washington D.C. However, upon closer inspection, the map only bears a vague resemblance to the actual Washington subway system (official WMATA system map). No other clues showed up in our cursory search of his office.
I expect the combination to the safe is somehow hidden in the neatly arranged letters. Please help us out by finding the combination! We want to get this mess straightened out before the media gets ahold of it.
