Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application “허리 날씨” (package name: com.krdonon.wweather) accesses, uses, stores, and shares information.
1. Information the App Accesses
A. Foreground Location Information
With your permission, the App may access your device’s approximate or precise location while you are actively using the App.
Location information is used only to:
- Find the nearest Korea Meteorological Administration weather observation station;
- Display an approximate region name; and
- Provide weather, precipitation, wind, and air-pressure information for the selected station.
The App does not request or access background location. It does not continuously track your location when the App is closed or not in use.
You may deny location permission and manually select or pin a weather station instead.
B. Information Stored on Your Device
The App may store the following information locally on your device:
- The selected or nearest weather-station number;
- The last latitude and longitude used to select a weather station;
- Region-selection settings;
- Notification settings;
- Air-pressure alert ranges; and
- Cached weather data received from the Korea Meteorological Administration.
This information is used only to operate the App and provide its features.
Depending on your Android device and backup settings, locally stored App data may be included in backups managed by Android or your platform provider.
C. Diagnostic Logs
The App creates a limited diagnostic log to help identify location, weather-data, and network errors.
The diagnostic log may include:
- Latitude and longitude used by the App;
- Selected weather-station information;
- Weather request results; and
- Error or network-status information.
Diagnostic logs are kept temporarily in the App’s memory and are cleared when the App starts again. They are not automatically transmitted to the developer or any third party.
The log is shared only when you intentionally use the copy or share function.
D. Notifications and Saved Images
The App may request notification permission to provide air-pressure or weather-related alerts.
When you use the screen-save feature, the App saves an image to your device only after your action. Saved images are not automatically uploaded.
2. How Information Is Used
Information accessed by the App is used to:
- Determine the nearest weather observation station;
- Display the user’s approximate region;
- Retrieve current weather data;
- Show whether it is raining;
- Display wind and air-pressure information;
- Store the selected station and App settings; and
- Provide optional air-pressure notifications.
3. Background Operation
The App may periodically retrieve weather and air-pressure information in the background when notifications are enabled.
This background operation uses a previously saved weather-station number. It does not access the device’s location in the background.
4. Network Communication and Third-Party Services
A. Korea Meteorological Administration APIHub
The App retrieves weather information from the Korea Meteorological Administration APIHub.
Weather requests include information such as:
- Weather-station number;
- Requested date and time; and
- Standard network request information.
The App does not intentionally send your exact latitude or longitude to the Korea Meteorological Administration. Your internet service provider and the weather service may receive technical information normally associated with an internet request, such as an IP address.
B. Android and Google Play Services
The App uses Android location services and Google Play services location components to obtain device location information.
The App may also use the Android geocoding service to convert coordinates into an approximate region name. Depending on your device, these services may be operated by Google or another device service provider and may process location and technical information according to their own privacy policies.
5. Information the Developer Does Not Collect
The App does not include advertising, marketing, user-account registration, social features, or analytics services.
The developer does not intentionally collect:
- Your name;
- Email address;
- Postal address;
- Phone number;
- Contacts;
- Photos;
- Advertising identifier;
- Payment information; or
- Browsing history.
The App does not sell personal information.
6. Sharing of Information
The App does not automatically share personal information with advertisers, data brokers, business partners, or other users.
Information may be processed by service providers only when necessary to provide the App’s core functions, including device location services, geocoding services, network providers, and the Korea Meteorological Administration weather service.
Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or a valid legal request.
7. Retention and Deletion
Locally stored information remains on your device until one of the following occurs:
- The information is replaced by newer App data;
- You clear the App’s storage in Android settings; or
- You uninstall the App.
Cached weather information may be overwritten by newer weather information.
Diagnostic logs are cleared when the App starts again.
To delete all locally stored App information, clear the App’s storage through Android settings or uninstall the App.
8. Security
The App uses encrypted HTTPS connections when requesting weather information.
However, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children’s Privacy
The App is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the App’s features, permissions, or data practices change.
The updated date at the top of this page will be changed when the Privacy Policy is revised.
