Kota Kadoi

Dr. Kota Kadoi is working at Joining and Welding Research Institute, Osaka University since 2016 as an associate professor. His main research interest is metallurgical phenomena during manufacturing process such as welding, additive manufacturing and casting, in particular the hot cracking behavior and the microstructural evolution. He has also developed a high accurate evaluation method for the cracking susceptibility using in-situ measurement technique for quantitative index concerning with the cracking. The method has significantly impacted the evaluation of the susceptibility quantitatively. He also has conducted the relationship between the properties (corrosion and mechanical property) of the weldment and microstructure and contributes to develop the microstructural control process to improve the properties.
