I remember when computers entered our school. We all looked at the object in mystification. When I was in junior high school, computers started to enter the typing lab. We only had 13 for 28 students, so half of us had to use electric type writers. We thought they were the worst. Of course today we have schools that are equipped with a device for every single student, teacher, staff member, administrator, school board member, and the list goes on. On top of what the school provides chances are students have some form of technology of their own whether it be a phone, tablet, computer, or a fidget spinner they possess technology 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

My job has transformed so much over the last 16 years. As I mentioned I have been under the technology spell since I was in grade school, I became a business teacher where I got to work with numbers and technology! What could be better, right! I became a teacher at Orchard Public School where I taught for 15 years. My first year I started teaching Microsoft Office which we had a beginners course and advanced course that only upper level students could take. Of course this transitioned in the years to come to younger students and adding web design. I am sure I am missing a few thousand transition, but today I teacher a media class that we leave with a broad description so it can transition to whatever it needs to for the current technology.

Today I work as a Technology Integrationist for Creighton Community Public School. I live the dream everyday getting to help students to understand technology and how teachers can blend it into their classroom. The staff I work with is so excepting of trying new things and the students are eating up every second of our activity time. In my first year, we have conducted projects with green screen, robotics, poster creation, breakout edu, and the list goes on. I work hard to stay just a little head of them to teach them new skills, the day is soon approaching when they will be teaching me, and I can not wait!
