WALKING THE HILLY VINYARDS

Discover the flavours of Zagorje through a day dedicated to one of its finest traditions: wine. Combining panoramic walks and degustations, our day will begin with a path leading to one of the most beautiful wineries in the region. As we explore the cellars and the surrounding vineyards, we will be introduced to the region's grape varieties and winemaking traditions. Your hosts will share the stories, history, and passion behind every bottle.

The visit continues with a guided wine tasting, accompanied by a selection of local cheeses, cured meats, and other regional delicacies. Take your time to savour the flavours, ask questions, and experience the warm hospitality that makes Zagorje's wineries so special.

In the afternoon, we'll leave the vineyard behind for a relaxing walk through the surrounding hills and quiet villages, chasing traditional farmers kleti and historical castles. As the day ends, we'll visit the town of Pregrada before making our way back to Zagreb with new memories, connections, and a deeper appreciation for rural Croatia.

Schedule:

The meeting point is Pregrada. If you need help getting there, we'll provide information on public transport, connect participants interested in carpooling, and explore private transport options when needed.

After a walk through the hills, we will be welcomed into our winery, where we will learn about winemaking between traditions and modernity, different types of wines, and finally be guided into a winetasting experience, accompanied by local delicacies.

Our day will continue with a walk back to Pregrada, among traditional farmers houses and castels, before relaxing in the town. Finally, we will return to Zagreb in the late afternoon.

Founding season price:

The price is 42€/person, and the minimum number of participants is 8.

• Transport

• Personal insurance

• Anything not mentioned under "it includes"

Cancellation policy:

Participation is confirmed by paying a non-refundable advance payment of 20€ either in cash or by bank transfer. Cancellations are possible until 3 days (72 hours) before the activity day.

In the case of cancellation from Korene's part due to insufficient participant numbers, severe weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund.

Marwacodi is an association based in Kenya. By working hand in hand with local communities, it promotes education, entrepreneurship, and women's empowerment. You can be part of Marwacodi's story, too:

• By making a donation: you can send a donation through Korene's account or directly to Marwacodi. The full amount we receive will be transfered to Marwacodi, accounting for some banking fees. Your donations will be used for three causes:

1) Education: to support families in paying tuition fees for primary and secondary school
2) Entrepreneurship: to buy materials for tailoring and hairdressing courses for teen girls
3) Sexual education: to buy sanitary pads and contribute to health professionals holding workshops in schools

• By visiting Marwacodi's projects in Kenya: Korene can help organize a trip for you, your friends and family, where you can combine the enjoyment of the coast of Kenya (Diani Beach) with visiting project activities and volunteering in the villages and schools where Marwacodi is working.
