LUNCH AT THE BEEKEEPER'S TABLE

Ever wondered what a typical autumn Saturday looks like for a local beekeeper? Come and experience it for yourself.

Your day begins with a visit to a family-run beekeeping farm, where you'll discover the fascinating world of bees, learn how honey is produced, and explore the flowers and landscapes that shape its unique flavours. Afterwards, enjoy a tasting of homemade honey and other local delicacies.

Next, gather around the table for a traditional family-style lunch featuring roštilj (barbecue), local drinks, and coffee: a chance to slow down, share stories, and experience Croatian hospitality.

To end the day, we'll take a gentle walk through the rolling hills of Zagorje, soaking in the autumn scenery, enjoying panoramic views, and capturing a few memorable photos before heading home with new friendships, lasting memories, and a deeper connection to rural Croatia.

Schedule:

The experience is scheduled for Saturday 10th of October, 2026.

The meeting point is Klanjec.  If you need help getting there, we'll provide information on public transport, connect participants interested in carpooling, and explore private transport options when needed.

In the morning, we will visit the family beekeeping farm, learning about its history, family traditions, and beekeeping techniques, as well as about the surrounding nature. The visit continues with a honey degustation and, later, lunch. The full visit and lunch will take about 3-4 hours.

After the visit, we will explore the surrounding hills and villages with a walk of about 1.5/2 hours at easy pace, strolling through beautiful hilly landscapes before saying goodbye.

Founding season price:

The price is 55€/person, and the minimum number of participants is 10.

• Organization and a host/guide during the whole experience

• Family farm visit

The price does not include:

• Transport

• Personal insurance

• Personal expenses

• Anything not mentioned under "it includes"

Cancellation policy:

Participation is confirmed by paying a non-refundable advance payment of 16€ amount to Korene either in cash or by bank transfer. Cancellations are possible until 3 days (72 hours) before the activity day.

In the case of cancellation from Korene's part due to insufficient participant numbers, severe weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund.

Marwacodi is an association based in Kenya. By working hand in hand with local communities, it promotes education, entrepreneurship, and women's empowerment. You can be part of Marwacodi's story, too:

• By making a donation: you can send a donation through Korene's account or directly to Marwacodi. The full amount we receive will be transfered to Marwacodi, accounting for some banking fees. Your donations will be used for three causes:

1) Education: to support families in paying tuition fees for primary and secondary school
2) Entrepreneurship: to buy materials for tailoring and hairdressing courses for teen girls
3) Sexual education: to buy sanitary pads and contribute to health professionals holding workshops in schools

• By visiting Marwacodi's projects in Kenya: Korene can help organize a trip for you, your friends and family, where you can combine the enjoyment of the coast of Kenya (Diani Beach) with visiting project activities and volunteering in the villages and schools where Marwacodi is working.
