Kontur — Proxy Manager (“Kontur”) is a Chrome extension for managing user-provided proxy servers and selecting which website requests are routed through a proxy.

1. Information the Extension Handles

Server settings and authentication credentials. Server names, addresses, ports, protocols, and optional usernames and passwords are stored locally in your Chrome profile. Kontur does not additionally encrypt stored passwords and does not include them in the routing script. When the active HTTP or HTTPS proxy requests authentication, Kontur supplies the saved credentials to Chrome only if the requesting proxy’s host and port match the configured server.

Domains and routing preferences. The routing mode, website lists, local-network bypass preference, and interface language are stored locally. When you open the popup, Kontur reads the current tab’s URL to extract its domain for the add-current-site feature. The extension does not record a chronological browsing history or page contents. Chrome matches request domains against locally generated routing rules.

Temporary authentication counters. Request identifiers, retry counts, profile identifiers, and timestamps are stored in session storage to limit unsuccessful authentication attempts. Counters are removed when requests complete or fail. Expired counters are removed during subsequent cleanup, and session storage is cleared with the browser session. These counters do not store request bodies, response bodies, or page contents.

Imported and exported files. Files selected by the user are processed on the device. Website imports extract domains without uploading the file or executing code contained in it. Usernames and passwords are excluded from exported backups unless the user explicitly chooses to include them. Exported files are saved to the location selected by the user.

2. Where Information Is Sent

The extension has no developer-operated data collection server, analytics, advertising, telemetry, or cloud synchronization. Kontur does not send server settings, passwords, domain lists, or browsing history to Andrew Kutcher.

When the proxy is enabled, Chrome routes traffic selected by your rules through the server you configured. That server’s operator may receive your IP address, connection destination information, and data visible under the selected protocol. When authentication is required, the operator receives the proxy login credentials. This transmission is necessary to provide the proxy connection you requested.

The practices of proxy operators and websites you visit are outside Kontur’s control and are governed by their own policies.

3. Connection Security

HTTP and SOCKS do not themselves encrypt the connection to the proxy. An HTTPS proxy protects the connection to the proxy server using TLS. HTTPS on a destination website separately protects the connection’s content.

Kontur is not a system VPN and does not guarantee anonymity or protection for traffic outside Chrome.

Credentials are stored without additional encryption by the extension. Users should protect access to their devices, Chrome profiles, and backup files.

4. How Information Is Used

Information is used only to configure and provide the proxy connections, routing, and related configuration-management features requested by the user.

Kontur does not sell user data, use it for advertising, transfer it for purposes unrelated to the extension’s functionality, or use it to determine creditworthiness or make lending decisions.

5. Storage and Deletion

Server settings and routing rules remain stored locally until they are changed or deleted, or the extension is uninstalled.

Users can:

Turning the proxy off does not delete saved profiles. Exported files are not automatically deleted when the extension is uninstalled.

Retention and deletion of information received by a selected proxy operator are governed by that operator’s policy.

6. Support Requests

If you contact kutcher777@gmail.com, your email address and any information you voluntarily include are transmitted through email to handle your request.

Do not send proxy passwords or private browsing information. Support correspondence is separate from telemetry: the extension does not send emails automatically.

Questions about privacy or the handling of support correspondence can be sent to kutcher777@gmail.com.

7. Changes to This Policy

Updates to this policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date.

This policy describes the Kontur extension. The website hosting this page may have its own hosting logs and data-handling policies.
