Konrad SA guide
Welcome to my portfolio
I'm Konrad, a proud South African tour guide.
My guiding career started as a tour cook where I learnt all the skills to cook for big camping groups in the bush on tours up to 3 weeks.
In the past 9 years I have taken 100s of people from all different countries around all of South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini (Swaziland), Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique.
We have traveled around in many different ways,
from small private cars to Overland trucks, from roughing it by camping or basking in luxurious accommodations, young or old, singles , couples or families.
Anyone and everyone is guaranteed to find their enjoyment here.
I'm a proficient driver with a truck, motorcycle and car licence with a Professional driving permit.
I have the perfect combination of skills to receive visitors to South Africa and help them to fill all their senses with all that Africa has to offer.
Lastly, my passion for travel comes from the beauty and diversity of my country, South Africa, it's people, the history, the nature and the many different cultures living here all together.
Anyone can contact me to do or help them to organize tours in Southern Africa.
I'm a registered Field guide with the department of Tourism.

A little bit about me:
I grew up in Pretoria, where I was born 40 years ago and also went to school.
After High school I moved to Europe for about 12 years, 3 years in the UK and 9 years in the Netherlands where I worked many different jobs to gain valuable life experience.
My mother language is Afrikaans, but I could speak English from a young age. I'm also fluent in speaking Dutch.
In High school I studied German and then picked up quite a bit of Spanish while I was living in Europe.
In my personal time I love to cook or arrange braais (BBQ) for my friends. I bake my own pastries, pizzas and breads.
I also love riding my motorcycle. Every chance I get, I try to go for a ride and explore new places.
Hiking is one of my biggest passions which I try to do almost every weekend. I have hiked around Eswatini, the Drakensberg, the Garden route, Table mountain and almost all the popular hiking routes in Gauteng.
My hobbies include bird watching, I can usually identify most birds in certain areas, but I also know quite a bit about the different trees and other plants living in those areas.
