NTRODUCTION TO MEDITATION.

Relaxation is not meditation. Meditation is not relaxation. Whoever seats down to think is not meditating. That person is thinking and it has nothing to do with meditation. A person needs a lot of patience, perseverance and discipline in order to reach the state of meditation. The first thing a person needs to do is to relax his/her body. This might take some practices, but that is just the beginning.


MEDITATION IS SO DEEP THAT IS NOT EASY TO BE EXPLAINED TO BEGINNERS.


Relaxation is part of meditation and there are two types of relaxation:

- Physical relaxation.

- Mental relaxation.


MEDITATION GOES FAR BEYOND RELAXATION. IT IS A STATE FAR FROM THINKING. IT IS BEYOND THE MIND!


Once you are able to relax your body (This means you can stay in calm and motionless for at least one hour) then you can try relaxing your mind through different techniques such as visualization, mantras, breathing, pranayamas, etc.

WHAT IS MEDITATION?

It is a technique to go beyond the mind. It is a tool to experiment what is beyond the mind. Our mind cannot understand the fact that there is a way to think without it. It is a way to think without thoughts. Masters do not think, they have other capacities to understand wisdom. One of those marvelous faculties is INTUITION. Meditation without intuition is not possible because when you go beyond the mind and your thoughts are calmed then you need a capacity to understand, that capacity is INTUITION. We understand this when we experiment it. Otherwise it sounds like a riddle.


Yes, there are different ways to meditate, but the main objective is the same. So, what is the matter on going beyond the mind? what for? What can I get from it?
