Completing Your Funeral Request Form
Completing Your Funeral Request Form
Brothers,
One of the saddest but proudest duties we have as members of the Assembly is standing as a member of the Honor Guard or just participating in the wake or funeral for our deceased Sir Knights. The presence of brother Knights of Columbus demonstrates to the family that their loved one was respected by his peers as a Catholic man of faith and an inspiration to all who met him.
Unfortunately, there are times when the Assembly has not been there to support a family because we did not know the Knight's wishes, or the family did not know that Knights of Columbus had a program for honoring our deceased Sir Knights.
The Assembly 2683 is asking all Sir Knights to make clear your wishes about your wake or funeral services. Discuss your wishes with your spouse. Relieve her of the unnecessary burden of making decisions in a time of stress. Click on this link to download a "Funeral Rituals Request Form" to guide your discussion.
You should be able to complete the downloaded PDF file and email the form to the Faithful Comptroller without having to print it out.
There is no obligation to complete this form but it seems to ease the burden on the family during difficult times. When you complete this form and email it to me, I will keep it on file and forward it to the Faithful Navigator when necessary.
In the past, we have received request from several Sir Knights. To check if you had submitted a form already, or you just want to see if it needs to be updated, let me know and I can send you a copy.
