Samuel Dewitt Ingle, age 74, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
Samuel D Ingle was the youngest of five children of Gus Lahnam and Jewel Marie Smith Ingle.
He graduated from Sierra Vista High School in Baldwin Park, California, in 1967 and joined the Army as a Door Gunner on a helicopter in Vietnam. He had a few close calls, like being shot down four times, surviving a 12-foot cobra, and moving a whole village of 60 people. He is a very proud patriot.
He is a proud father of Shane Brian, Matthew Robert, Patricia Amber, and Jewel Marcelina Ingle, and a husband to Marie Psyche Ingle.
Sam has 13 grandkids and 10 great-grandkids. Memories they recall of him are how much he loves music and his car.
He was predeceased by Ida Marie, Gail Yvonne, and Jerry Bruce.
He is survived by Connie Idola Ingle Eddy, his sister, who lives in Georgia. Memories of Sam that she shares include the time when the Red Cross picked him up out of the jungle; Sam had big boils from his head to his feet. “Sam was forever sweet and funny. Such a sweet brother,” she recalls.
He did bodywork for 20 years after his military life and is very passionate about it. A jack of all trades and a master of many.
The remaining years he spent serving the Lord and is a proud 4th degree Knights of Columbus, and devoted his life to being active at St. Elisabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Pflugerville before laryngeal cancer brought him home to Our Creator.
