Roger "Ike" Nitz, Sr., of Lockhart passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at the age of 61. He was born in Ledyard, Iowa, October 17, 1943, to Frank and Mildred Nitz.
Roger "Ike" Nitz, Sr., of Lockhart passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at the age of 61. He was born in Ledyard, Iowa, October 17, 1943, to Frank and Mildred Nitz.
He had resided in Texas for 20 years. He served three years in the United States Army. He was self-employed by co-owning a cement plant in So. Sioux City, Nebraska, and a window business in Austin. After retiring in 1990, he then did woodworking.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight of Father Tracy Council in So. Sioux City and also at St. Elizabeth s Council of Pflugerville. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter and a wonderful chef.
His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon Nitz; daughters, Charlotte Stuart and husband Mike, Renee Garcia; sons, Roger Nitz and Michael Nitz; brother, Frank Nitz and sister, Linda Larson; and five grandchildren.
