Roderick O'Connor Bell

November. 06, 1961 - November. 17, 2016

Roderick O’Connor Bell left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on November 17, 2016.

Unfortunately for the world, Rod's big heart was not invincible. Rod became sick in early 2016. After months of pain and undefined illness, he was diagnosed with colon cancer.

Rod was born on November 6, 1961 to Fred and Barbara Bell. He grew up in a family full of love, laughter, and incredible height. He attended Lanier High School in Austin, Texas then went on to Southwest Texas, majoring in Business with a Computer Information Systems degree in August 1989. In 1992 Rod married the love of his life, Janet Marie Tepera Bell. They had three stunning daughters, Caitlin Marie, Allison Nicole, and Erin Elise and this was when Rod's life truly began. Everything he did was for these four women in his life, they were the inspiration in his big heart and the love behind his kind smile.

He loved his Lord and lived his life to please Him. Rod was an amazing husband, father, brother and son. He was a wonderful example of what a man should be. He was selfless, caring, kind and witty. He was an avid history buff, even from a young age he and his younger brother where GI Joe buddies. Rod was obviously a man of many loves including the Longhorns, peanut butter, online gaming and reveled in World War II models.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Marie Tepera Bell; daughters, Caitlin Marie, Allison Nicole, and Erin Elise Bell; beloved dog, Schultz; father, Fred Marion Bell, Jr. and wife Julia; precious mother-in-law, Mary Tepera; brother and sister-in-law Brock and Susan Bell; sister, Marnell Bell; sister, Melanie Bell; brother, Brad Bell; brother and sister-in-law Ralph Bell, Vikki Love Bell and the inspiration to his conversion to Catholicism his uncle Joe Hill. Also by countless nephews, nieces, cousins and many special friends. Rod was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Barbara Brock Bell.
