Drosophila Sleep Laboratory

Welcome to the Drosophila Sleep Lab!

We are based in the Department of Genetics and Genome Biology at the University of Leicester. Broadly speaking the lab is interested in two aspects of sleep research: How environmental factors influence sleep and circadian behaviours? and How sleep-related cellular mechanisms modulate progress of human diseases? To answer these research questions, we use the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster as an experimental model, allowing us to apply diverse methods to identify evolutionary conserved molecular mechanisms. Please see the following individual projects for more details.

We have a BBSRC-funded PhD oppurtunity. Please see the project website.
