but the "machine" can't open jpgs exported with AP and i don't know why. I tried to export the same picture with differents profiles Adobe, Adobe progressive, sRGB, SRG progressive and none of the can be read/printed. Can somebody tell me how must i export in order to print using these kiosk printers?

I have loaded your file to a USB and printed the image on a Kodak kiosk running the latest software version without issue. However it could be that the stores you have tried, are running very old kiosk software which may not be able to display the image (due to the change applied by photo manipulation s/w) . This was fixed in later versions of the kiosk software.

The two stores i tried have the Kodak kiosk printers for years, so probably you're right and they are running an old software, but the store you give is a bit far from my location, so probably i'll do online next time until the nearest store update their printers. Many many thanks for your support GKiosk.

There have been numerous software updates and fixes from both Apple and Kodak Alaris since 2014 especially around how the kiosk uses iphone images. Also where the images are stored (i.e. on the cloud) can make it impossible to get those images from the kiosk because of Apple privacy rules. The best starting point though would be a kiosk with the latest software which at the moment is V6.3, this will give you the best chance to get all of your images.

The units typically consist of an order station connected to one or more dye-sublimation printer(s) in a single unit. These stations are typically installed in a retail location such as Kodak Express stores, supermarkets and drugstores offering both instant print and behind the counter services. The kiosks allow printing digital photos from digital media (such as a CD or a digital memory card), as well as the ability to scan existing photos and perform simple edits and photo-enhancements via the touch screen interface. Some systems are set up as "order stations" that print to a digital minilab in addition to (or instead of) printing the pictures instantly.

The first Kiosk, named the Kodak Picture Maker was introduced in the late 1990s, followed by second, third (G3) and fourth generation (G4) picture kiosks. The most recent model is the Kodak Picture Kiosk G4XE, introduced in 2009.

The kiosk uses a range of direct inputs and online image hosting services[2] to allow the user to upload their photos for printing. Input options vary on the kiosk generation and the location. Mac formatted USB Drives are not recognized. A list of inputs is shown below:

The kiosk prints photos in multiple sizes and enlargements, dependent on the retailer and equipment available. Alongside the photo packages available, a user may also choose between individual sizes, including 46 in. (1015 cm), 57 in. (1318 cm), 68 in. (1520 cm), 810 in. (2025 cm), and 812 in. (2030 cm)The kiosk can also print photo IDs suitable for driving licenses, passports and ID cards, as well as automatically generated collages, monthly & yearly calendars, greeting cards, pages for bound photo albums, and other products.Newer kiosks are also capable of burning Picture CDs and/or DVDs.

Watch out for something called a 'Kodak Picture Kiosk'. It uses something called a 'ribbon' for instant printing of your snapshots at drugstores like CVS. The kiosk printer does OK on normal daylight-type pictures, which print out a little lighter than desired but are acceptable. But it totally massacres darker nighttime images. They come out looking posterized, really bad.

Luckily, the CVS photo department also has a behind-the-counter Kodak inkjet printer... for pictures ready in one hour, which are much better quality as well as less expensive. When you enter your pictures into the kiosk (SD card, USB, etc) make sure you select 'one hour printing' and your order will go to the machine behind the counter.

I uploaded my photos from a USB drive since they were but I did check out the Kodak Kiosk Connect app and that is great if you want to quickly print photos from your smartphone. I was using pictures from my desktop computer so I added them to a USB at home and all I had to do when I was in the store then was pop in my USB stick and the photos uploaded.

From now on there are no more excuses for not printing pictures as I am in CVS/pharmacy weekly and it takes just a few swipes from my phone to print them out. I will definitley be creating some photo gifts this Christmas now that I see how easy and fast it is!

I am having a problem with my Kodak G3 Kiosk and was wondering if anyone could help. The kiosk software no longer loads. When I turn it on, I get an error message saying that "One or more services failed to start and to contact a Kodak representative." The services that are listed as not starting are:

Thx Frenchman but I can't even startup the kiosk. I get this message and can go no further. My only options from the screen is to make diagnostic disk or reboot. Neither one helps. If anyone has an idea how to fix this problem I would greatly appreciate the help

You could try manually to reinstall the V1.5 application that you have, by killing the process from the kiosk (all associated, including hanging ones), using task manager, then go to new task, explorer.exe and start the setup manually.

Well, I called Kodak directly and asked for the recovery Cd and it turns out the recovery CD is rather expensive. If anyone has the S.35LS recovery cd for the kodak kiosk, please let me know. Thanks for all your help.

By the way in the past Recovery CD was hidden in one envelope which was glued to the bottom off the kiosk. This was for G3, on the newer G4 Kodak is not giving the Recovery CD (maybe in some countries ?)

Also... I don't use those machines very often, so I'm not sure, but are the Photoshop jpegs being saved to the same folder/directory as the camera produced pictures, which the kiosk CAN see? I don't know if the machine knows to look in different folders if not. Probably not the issue, but that thought just struck me.

I am trying to print pictures from my phone using the Walmart Kodak Picture Kiosk. My pictures are stored in the cloud. For some reason I cannot choose hardly any of my pictures, or they will not download from the cloud in order for me to choose them to print. Has anyone else experieced this, and can you tell me how to access all my pictures using the Kodak Kiosk?

Most kiosk and minilab prints look pretty good if you submit a well-adjusted image file. The trick is how to obtain a good image file. It's usually best to use a color space of sRGB, but Adobe RGB works just as well if the printer is color-managed.

You were probably the only one who noticed. It is surprising what people will accept when printing photos. Consumers are not photographers and most don't care or don't know that they should care about the quality of the output. They're happy enough that their cameras did some crazy magic and actually took a picture. A print with something recognizable on it is just gravy. Evidence for this is easy to find. Just look at the mostly image-destroying "automatic correction" software in the minilabs that render any black in an image a gray noisy mess.
