QuestBridge is an all-in-one application and scholarship process that allows for low income students to earn scholarships at a variety of select schools. Similar to the Common App, QuestBridge requires one application, which is put through a matching process. Select students are then named Finalists. Finalists select three top choices of universities, and are matched to those who choose them back!
At AECHS, there are four seniors who have become Finalists and have gone on to match with a college! Here are some quotes from some of them,
Shathra Thamer - "Hello everyone! My name is Shathra Thamer. Obviously, I’m a QuestBridge scholar. I was matched to Wesleyan University as a Chemistry major. When I found out I got matched, it was so surreal. I’ve always dreamed of a full ride, and I honestly had no expectations of getting in. I want to do pharmacy, so I decided to pursue chemistry. My advice would be to do something that you are passionate about (in my experience, Mock Trial and Art Club) and develop great relationships with your teachers because they write your letters of recommendation. Also, write from the heart when it comes to the essays and supplementals."
Azeemah Sadiq - “QuestBridge really said 'dream bigger' and then made it happen. What started as a long-shot application turned into a full ride to Stanford University and a whole new future. Forever grateful for the doors it opened and the people who believed in me before I fully believed in myself. Biggest lesson: shoot your shot! The worst they can say is no, but sometimes they say welcome :).”
