Brady, 9, spends his time at the Fitness club, and after school, he tries to get his homework
done as soon as possible. He also plans to major in civil engineering and does not think about
changing it.
Natalie, 9, freshman. Natalie’s club time is sports, as she said she had an interest in before
coming here to AECHS. She mentions how she wants to major in business or finance so she
can receive a job in either of those workforces.
Alejandra, 1. Alejandra shares her interests with us, for example, she likes to listen to music and
used to play soccer before she came here. She says at first it was hard to leave her passion
behind, but she says it was worth coming to AECHS. She would want to major in either
engineering or journalism.
Zody, 10. Zody likes to read and write poetry, paint with watercolors, and listen to music. She
has a Mock trial as her club time, and she likes that it is competitive. Her vision is to one day be
a lawyer or a government figure so she can bring change to the place where she grew up.
Even in the same grade, all students have similarities and differences when it comes to club
time, majors, and aspirations.
Faith, 11. Faith’s schedule looks busier as she spends her time in Speech and Debate or Earth
Club, as she loves engaging in the community. Her major path has been shaky, as she says it
has changed multiple times, but she has decided on a major. She advises lowerclassmen to
pick the right group of friends that can help them.
Sebastian, 11. Sebastian says that his favorite activity is to listen to and play music, which is why
he is in the music club. He plans to major in engineering, as he says the job would be
something he enjoys, and the pay would also be nice.
Senior, 12. Brandon. He spends his time at the Earth Club; he’s not an officer, and does not
plan to be one. He wants to major in engineering, although he originally wanted to be a doctor.
Senior, 12. Natalie. She also has the Earth Club and is not an officer. She wants to be a
chemical engineer, as she mentions her grandfather used to be one as well, and it’s what has
inspired her to choose this career path.
In conclusion, everyone's schedule looks different but is almost equally as busy. Whether it's
responsibilities from your club, work, or your college choices, it all comes together. That’s why
we have people to give us advice and, most importantly, help us.
