MS. KNAPP'S 6TH GRADE CLASS

Welcome to Our Classroom!

Dear Families,

Welcome to 6th grade! My name is Ms. Knapp and I am SO excited to be your child's teacher this year. This website will have some basic information about me, our classroom, and what you can expect in sixth grade.

This year is going to be full of learning, growth, and fun! I am passionate about creating positive learning experiences for all of my students. We are going to read TONS of books. We are going to become next level mathematicians. We are going to be scientists and engineers in the lab. We are going to look at history through a critical lens. I cannot wait for our sixth-grade journey together!

Warmly,

Ms. Knapp

 About Ms. Knapp

I am from Bloomington, IN but attended Purdue University and the Purdue Honors College. (Boiler Up!) I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. While at Purdue, I studied my own research project on outdoor learning, was part of Purdue Old Masters Central Committee, held leadership positions on Honors Leadership Council, and many more. I student taught in a 6th-grade classroom at WLIS last spring and am beyond excited to return as a 6th-grade teacher!

I love to spend my free time going on walks outside, hammocking, kayaking, or other activities outdoors! I have spent the past 5 summers working as a camp counselor and coordinator at YMCA Camp Tecumseh, where I have worked with youth ages 7-15 years-old.
