Infomation

I was Ph.D. in POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) majoring in algorithms, especially computational geometry field. My main publications are for computing optimal rectilinear paths in rectilinear obstacles. Now I am working in Samsung SDS as a Senior Engineer.

About Name

My first name "Mincheol(민철)" has meaning that "Clever person." (Of course it is not really proven :P) If you are good at Korean, you will have no problem to speak "Mincheol." However, the world is wide, and there are many people. If you are hard to speak my name, you had better speak "mintcher" (surprisingly someone's family name) instead of "Mincheol." This word is the nearest approximation for speaking "Mincheol" correctly. The email "mintcherry" is from this intuition. Don't get me wrong. I don't like mint and cherry :)
