About me
About me
I am an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington, specializing in data-driven modeling of complex physical and engineering systems. Prior to joining UW, I was a von Karman Instructor of Computing + Mathematical Sciences and NSF Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Caltech. I received my Ph.D. in Applied Math from University of Washington.
Research
Research
Our group specializes in data-driven prediction and control of complex physical, biological, and engineering systems, with heavy emphasis on interpretable machine learning and dimensionality reduction for efficient modeling and control. We study these methods from an algorithmic and theoretical perspective, by exploiting tools from operator theory and manifold learning. These techniques have been successfully used to study complex phenomena in fluid dynamics, climate, biology and manufacturing.
