REGISTRATION OPEN NOW! CLOSES 11:59PM 31/10/2026
Welcome to the inaugural year of the Klash K-Pop Dance Competition, hosted by The University of Edinburgh’s K-Pop Society!
We encourage any universities from across the United Kingdom to participate, especially our fellow Scottish students.
Primarily geared at university students in the UK, we hope this competition will make competing in K-Pop dance more accessible for student groups who are otherwise unable to participate in existing competitions due to distance of and cost of travel.
There is also a category in which unaffiliated, independent teams may compete, widening the opportunities primarily for local K-Pop dance groups to engage in, perform, and develop their K-Pop dance. More information on this can be found further below.
Since this is the first (of hopefully many) times this competition is being run, we kindly ask for your patience with any teething issues in getting things up and running!

University Teams vs. Unaffiliated Teams
University Teams
University teams are associated with a tertiary education institution, typically as a student group/society/club.
Each university team is permitted a certain number of non-student dancers per category:
2 - 5 dancers: 1 non-student permitted
6 - 9 dancers: 2 non-students permitted
10 - 15 dancers: 3 non-students permitted
16 + dancers: 4 non-students permitted
Every other competing member of your team must present their student cards or other valid proof of matriculation upon arrival at the competition, or else they risk disqualification.
University teams can compete in all categories.
Unaffiliated Teams
Unaffiliated teams are independent.
University students are permitted to compete as members of unaffiliated teams, but a reminder that dancers cannot represent more than one team in the competition - i.e. if you are a university student competing as part of an unaffiliated team, you cannot also compete as part of your university team.
Unaffiliated teams must provide proof that they existed as a group prior to registration.
Every member of an unaffiliated team must be at least 18 years old by the date of the competition (14th of February 2027).
Unaffiliated teams are only permitted to compete in the Open category. As such, the registration fee is only £10.
Fees
Participation fees will include a competition-branded t-shirt for each registered competitor, given to your group on the day of the competition.
University teams: £25 per participant
Unaffiliated teams: £10 per participant
