Abdussalam Bin Abdullah As Sulaiman: A Renowned Scholar and Educator
Abdussalam Bin Abdullah As Sulaiman was born in 1928 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was a descendant of a noble family from Hadhramaut, Yemen, who migrated to Southeast Asia in the 19th century. He received his early education from his father, who was a scholar and a judge, and then continued his studies at various Islamic institutions in Malaysia and Indonesia.
He was a prolific writer and a respected authority on various Islamic sciences, such as Quranic exegesis, Hadith, jurisprudence, theology, history, and education. He authored more than 50 books and hundreds of articles on various topics. Some of his most famous works include Tarbiyatul Aulad (Children's Education), Al-Minhaj Al-Qawim Fi Tafsir Al-Quran Al-Karim (The Sound Methodology in Interpreting the Noble Quran), Al-Mustalah Al-Hadith (The Terminology of Hadith), and Al-Tarikh Al-Islami (Islamic History).
He was also a prominent educator and a reformer who dedicated his life to spreading Islamic knowledge and values among Muslims. He founded several Islamic schools and colleges in Malaysia and Indonesia, such as Darul Ulum Al-Madinah in Kuala Lumpur, Madrasah Al-Irsyad Al-Islamiyyah in Jakarta, and Madrasah Tarbiyatul Aulad in Bandung.
