"Kiss Kiss" is a song by American singer Chris Brown featuring vocals and sole production from fellow American singer T-Pain from the former's second studio album, Exclusive (2007). Written by the two artists, the song was released as the album's second single on September 10, 2007 worldwide. It was later solicited to rhythm crossover radios in the United States on September 11, 2007. "Kiss Kiss" is an upbeat record that incorporates elements of R&B, hip-hop and dance music. The song's lyrics are about getting a woman's attention.

"Kiss Kiss" was released as the second single from Brown's second studio album Exclusive (2007), after the moderately successful "Wall to Wall" (2007). The music video for "Kiss Kiss" was shot at Florida International University's University Park campus, in Miami, Florida. It was directed by Brown and Erik White, who has directed music videos with and for him in the past, including Brown's last number one single "Run It".[11] This video premiered on BET's 106 & Park on August 30, 2007. The music video is also available on iTunes. This song was voted #1 on MTV's 27 Essential R&B Songs of 2007.[12]

The song had its debut on VH1 at #6 on January 5. In the video Brown plays two different versions of himself, a nerd and a jock, both trying to get the attention of a pretty girl who also attends the college. The jock side of Brown is constantly picking on the nerdy Brown around the girl, thinking it will impress her, whereas the nerdy Brown is always being nice to her. In one scene of the video the jock Brown is playing football in a field by the school, while the nerdy Brown is attempting to talk to the girl. The jock Brown seeing this runs and tackles the nerdy Brown to the ground. At the end of the video the two Browns are standing in front of their cars in the parking lot. The girl comes up, passes the jock Brown and kisses the nerdy Brown and proceeds to get in his vehicle, while the jock looks on, bewildered. K. Michelle made a cameo in the video. The music video received a nomination at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards for "Best Choreography", but lost to Gnarls Barkley's "Run".[13]

"Kiss Kiss" received a nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 50th Grammy Awards, held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on February 10, 2008. It lost to Rihanna's 2007 single Umbrella.[17] At the 2008 BET Awards, "Kiss Kiss" got a nomination for Best Collaboration, but lost to Kanye West's 2007 song "Good Life".[18] The song was also nominated for Viewer's Choice, but lost to Lil Wayne's 2008 single "Lollipop".[18] The song is listed number three on the 100 Best Songs of 2007, published by the music magazine Rolling Stone.[19]

"Kiss Kiss" debuted at number 100 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in the issue dated September 29, 2007.[20] In the song's sixth week on the chart, it ascended to number two, rising from number 22, following a surge in digital downloads, totaling 159,000 for that week.[21][22] One week later, in the issue dated November 10, 2007, "Kiss Kiss" topped the Billboard Hot 100 while earning the biggest airplay and digital sales gainer and ending the seven-week streak held by Soulja Boy's "Crank That (Soulja Boy)".[23][24] The song remained atop the Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks and earned the airplay gainer title during that period.[25] The song also peaked at number two on the US Radio Songs and at number four on the US Pop Songs charts. As of April 2014, the single has sold 3,117,000 copies in the US.[26] On August 23, 2019, the single was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over four million copies in the United States.[27]

In Canada, "Kiss Kiss" entered the Canadian Hot 100 at number 70 in the issue dated November 3, 2007.[28] Eight weeks later, the song peaked at number six.[29] On April 21, 2008, it was certified double platinum by Music Canada for selling 80,000 ringtones.[30]

"Kiss Kiss" debuted on the Australian Singles Chart at number 36 on the issue dated November 25, 2007.[31] The song slowly ascended the chart for fifteen weeks until the issue dated March 9, 2008, when it peaked at number eight.[31] "Kiss Kiss" was later certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) for shipping 70,000 copies.[32] In New Zealand, the song entered the singles chart at number twenty on the issue dated September 24, 2007.[33] In the following week, the song rose to number four, earning the greatest gainer title.[34] It rose to number one in the next week, where it remained for three weeks. The song was certified platinum on December 16, 2007 by the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ).[35] "Kiss Kiss" debuted on the UK Singles Chart at number 40 in the issue dated November 3, 2007.[36] Two weeks later, the song rose to number 38.[36] It left the singles chart after seventeen weeks.[36]

All of the material for Kiss was written before the band entered the studio. Some of the songs were written during Wicked Lester's brief existence, while "Firehouse" was written by Paul Stanley while he was attending the High School of Music & Art in New York City.[10]

"Strutter", which opens the album with a drum intro, is an uptempo rock song that was written before Frehley joined Kiss. Stanley wrote the lyrics, and the music was based on a song Simmons had written years before, "Stanley the Parrot",[10] which he had recorded with former Wicked Lester member Brooke Ostrander in a New Jersey apartment. "Strutter" remains one of the few Kiss songs where Stanley and Simmons share songwriting credits and was a standard number at Kiss concerts throughout the 1970s. It was released in August 1974 as the third and final single from the album.

This was the first song composed for Kiss by Frehley. Insecure in his singing ability, Frehley turned over the vocals for the album to Simmons. "Cold Gin" was a concert staple throughout the 1970s. During the Alive/Worldwide Tour, Frehley assisted on lead vocals.

There was a Kiss tribute band from Los Angeles named after this classic song, featuring Tommy Thayer as Frehley, Jaime St. James as Criss, Chris McLernon as Simmons and Anthony White as Stanley. St. James and Thayer previously played in Black 'N Blue, a band produced by Simmons, and Thayer would eventually join Kiss, taking Frehley's place after the Farewell tour.

"Let Me Know" (previously titled "Sunday Driver") was the song Stanley played when he was first introduced to Simmons, and it was later recorded by Wicked Lester. Simmons and Stanley shared lead vocal duties on the song, which was given a bridge and instrumental coda when recorded for Kiss.[10] During later Kiss concerts, this coda was moved to the end of "She" and before that, "Watchin' You".

This instrumental evolved from a song titled "Acrobat", played during the band's 1973 club shows. It can be found on their 2001 box set. The song is shortened for the album. It is the only Kiss song to feature songwriting credits for all four original members. "Love Theme from Kiss" appeared in the 2010 movie Somewhere, directed by Sofia Coppola.

"Black Diamond" begins with Stanley singing the intro accompanied by a twelve-string acoustic guitar. After he yells out "hit it!", the full band kicks in and Criss assumes lead vocal duties for the two verses. After the last chorus, the song transitions to 6/8 time for Frehley's guitar solo, then ends with repeated 'A' chords as the tape is gradually slowed during mixing. After Criss departed from the band, the vocal duties fell to subsequent drummers Eric Carr and Eric Singer.
