Castillo has a bachelor's degree in Theatre, TV, and Film design from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She was born and raised in the southernmost part of Texas, known as the Rio Grande Valley. She is a performer, theatre technician, and teaching artist. 

As the daughter of immigrants, she takes great pride in her Mexican heritage. She feels blessed to have had many opportunities this far and hopes to leave a piece of herself and her culture everywhere she visits. 

Castillo is passionate about children's theatre, her culture, and being able to combine both anywhere she goes. Recently, she produced and interpreted an all-Spanish children's show for Gamut Theatre Group's Popcorn Hat Players.

Her dream is to bring her knowledge and experience back to the Rio Grande Valley, where she grew up, and help others from her community turn their love of the arts into a career. She hopes to open a bilingual theatre school and spread her love of theatre to her community.
