My name is Paul Kirk Clayton, and I was born on April 16, 1980, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. I’m the firstborn child of my mother and father. Three years later, I became a big brother. But like many families, ours didn’t stay together. My parents divorced in 1987 when I was just seven years old. That same year, I took on a role no child should have to, helping raise my younger brother in the absence of our united family.
After the divorce, I lived with my grandparents, my rock, my spiritual compass from 1987 to 1997. My grandfather was a preacher, a man of deep faith and conviction. He wasn’t just someone who stood behind a pulpit; he lived his sermons. He inspired me to walk with God and live by example. When he died of prostate cancer in 1995, a piece of my heart went with him. But his legacy, his love for the gospel and for our family remains the bedrock of who I am.
Life hasn’t been easy for me. I've endured five back surgeries, each one lasting over eight hours. I’ve survived an 18-wheeler accident, come close to drowning, and even run into telephone poles. I have faced death more than once, including a harrowing experience where I was just 17 hours from dying. I needed five blood transfusions to make it through. But I’m still here. God saw fit to keep me on this Earth.
In 2011, I experienced heartbreak like never before. My younger brother, whom I helped raise, took his own life. I was there. I walked with him, spiritually, to what I believe were the gates of heaven. It broke me, but it also woke something up inside me. Then, ten years later, my beloved wife, Latrecia, the love of my life and mother of our three beautiful children, passed away from breast cancer.
We were married for 20 years, since 2001. She also came from a broken home, and when we got married, we made a vow: to raise our children the opposite of what we had seen growing up. To raise them with love, with discipline, and with God. Together we raised not only our own kids. two daughters and one son, but I also helped raise my half-brother Traylon, who was born in 1993.
Losing my wife shattered me in a way I can’t put into words. But from that pain, God gave me a purpose. About nine months after her passing, I started making videos to teach the Word of God to children. What started as a healing exercise became a mission. These videos helped me process my grief, helped me teach my own children, and began lifting the spirits of others.
Since then, I’ve created over 3,300 videos with each one rooted in Scripture, each one intended to touch the heart of a child who might be struggling, sick, or just in need of a little hope. I know what it's like to be in pain. I know what it’s like to feel lost. And I also know what it’s like to be found again by grace.
That’s why I started Kirk’s Minute Ministries. We change hearts a minute at a time through short, spirit-filled videos that teach, uplift, and bring joy to children everywhere. My goal is simple: to spread God’s love through digital media, to reach kids in hospitals, churches, homes, and anywhere else they need a little light.
This is more than a ministry. It’s my life’s calling.
Every child deserves to know they are loved, seen, and never alone, especially in their hardest moments. At Kirk’s Minute Ministries, we create short, uplifting videos that bring God’s word to children who are hurting, sick, grieving, or simply in need of encouragement.
We have already produced over 3,300 videos with each one made with love, compassion, and the goal of changing hearts, one minute at a time. But we cannot continue this work alone.
