We love our jewellery so much that we guarantee every product for its lifetime. Here are the finer details for you:
Product Guarantee
We love all of our jewellery created at Kiri Booth Design right from the moment we begin each item's individual development in the studio. In fact, we love each piece so much that we guarantee every product for its lifetime.
The lifetime of the product is defined as the length of time any item of jewellery can reasonably be expected to remain as beautiful as when it was new.
Genuine faults or defects
We take great pride in the quality of our work. If you come across a genuine fault or defect during your product’s lifetime, we’ll repair or replace it for free. As all of our products are handmade and therefore unique, if we are unable to repair it we will replace it with an alternative from our current range that’s as close to the original as possible.
How long are products covered for?
We go that bit further at Kiri Booth Design. We don’t just guarantee our products for a set time frame. We like to be more flexible because the lifespan of our products varies depending on factors such as wear and tear and general care (see our section on care for how to look after your jewellery in order to optimise its lifespan). For example, a heavily used or poorly maintained item will have a shorter life than an averagely used or well-looked after item. That’s why our team of experts consider each case individually. As a general rule, silver plating does not last as long as a product that is solid silver. Porcelain is delicate but will last forever if not accidentally broken.
Exclusions
Our guarantee only covers genuine manufacturing faults or defects. To help clarify what this means, here are a few pointers of things that would not be covered:
Anything that is reaching or has reached the end of its serviceable life. For example, if a link breaks on an item after 5 years, it’s usually down to wear and tear rather than a defect.
Adhesive/glue/bonding Adhesives will naturally dry and break down over time because of age, particularly with heavy use and poor care. This issue on items over 10 years old would be considered normal wear and tear and not a defect. However can be rebonded for a small fee.
Accidental damage Whether it’s caused by you or someone else, if you drop your item and it breaks this will not be covered by the guarantee.
Poor aftercare Your product should be cared for and properly maintained. If, for example, your item becomes tarnished from a moist atmosphere and you use an abrasive cloth to clean the gold lustre and the gold wears off the porcelain then that would be due to poor aftercare, rather than being a manufacturer’s fault.
Damage caused by misuse or alteration of the product.
Any consequential loss or damage resulting from a fault.
Second hand items.
Unfortunately our guarantee covers only the original owner but that shouldn’t stop you having fun and looking beautiful with your Kiri Booth Design jewellery.
