Learner-centered syllabus
See the document below for an example of a learner-centered syllabus. I endeavor to make my syllabi learner-centered through:
the exposition of my learner-centered teaching philosophy
the use of conversational tone
providing rationale for learning tasks in relation to course learning objectives
including policies to support positive classroom climate, including pronoun and microaggression policies
including a basic needs statement and campus resources for students
signaling flexibility in relation to grading, accepting revisions, late policy, etc.
centering the need for open communication
