If you want a dedicated tree protector with heavy-duty abrasion resistance and a compact, ready-to-go kit for off-road recovery, choose KING-PRO Tree Saver Strap; if you need a long-reach tow strap with metal hooks for general vehicle towing or winching tasks, choose Lgsixe 2.
• KING-PRO Tree Saver Strap: Its biggest strength is the specialized neoprene sleeves and wide webbing designed specifically to shield tree trunks during recovery operations; its trade-off is that it is a single-purpose accessory rather than a general towing tool. This pick is for off-roaders who prioritize protecting their environment and their vehicles from snagging.
• Lgsixe 2: Its biggest strength is the extended 20-foot length and included metal hooks that offer flexibility for pulling from a distance or connecting directly to anchor points; its trade-off is the lack of built-in padding, meaning it requires careful placement to avoid damaging bark or the strap itself. This pick is for drivers needing a versatile rope for various recovery angles or standard towing scenarios.
The KING-PRO Tree Saver Strap is engineered for one specific job: getting your vehicle unstuck without turning a forest into a scarred mess. The design centers around a 3-inch wide by 8-foot long webbing made from reinforced polyester. That width is critical because it distributes tension over a larger surface area of the tree trunk. When you are stuck in mud or sand, the force required to pull a vehicle out can be immense. If that force concentrates on a thin line, it cuts into the bark, killing the cambium layer and potentially harming the tree permanently. This strap mitigates that risk through its sheer dimensions and material choice.
These are not just decorative; they are functional barriers placed between the high-tension webbing and the rough bark of the tree. The manufacturer notes that these sleeves, combined with polyurethane-coated eyes, prevent the strap from curling, kinking, or pinching under load. For anyone working in sensitive terrain, this feature is non-negotiable. You do not have to worry about the strap digging into the wood or the hooks sliding uncontrollably along the trunk. The vinyl coating body ensures smooth operation, reducing friction damage to both the tree and the equipment.
This product is ideal for the serious off-road enthusiast, the ATV rider, or the UTV owner who spends weekends exploring trails where trees are the only available anchors. It comes with a storage bag, which speaks to its portability and the expectation that it will be thrown into a glove box or cargo bin for emergency use. However, if you are looking for a strap to tow a boat, pull another car out of a driveway, or perform long-distance recovery where an anchor point might be far away, this 8-foot length might feel restrictive. It is a precision tool for tight-space recovery, not a universal all-purpose rope. Skip this if you need to reach across a field or connect to a distant object; choose this if your primary concern is safe, tree-friendly extraction right where you are stuck.

The Lgsixe 2 represents a different philosophy entirely. Instead of focusing on tree protection, it focuses on reach and connection versatility. At 2 inches wide and 20 feet long, this strap offers significantly more flexibility than the shorter KING-PRO option. The extra length allows you to create longer angles for pulling, which can sometimes provide better mechanical advantage when trying to free a vehicle from a deep rut or a difficult slope. In many recovery situations, being able to extend the connection to a safer distance from the anchor point is a major safety benefit, keeping the operator further away from potential snap-back zones.
The defining feature of the Lgsixe 2 is the inclusion of two metal hooks. Unlike straps that rely solely on loops or knots, these hooks attach directly to tow points and anchors. This makes setup faster in scenarios where you need to hook onto a bumper, a frame rail, or a sturdy tree branch that doesn't require wrapping. The polyester webbing is noted for resisting stretching and wear, which is essential for maintaining tension during heavy loads. A 12,000-pound break strength is substantial for most light to medium-duty towing tasks, making it a robust choice for general utility work.
This strap is perfect for rideshare drivers who might find themselves in a pinch on a roadside, needing to pull a friend's sedan out of a ditch or assist in moving a stalled vehicle on flat ground. It is also excellent for those who need a "grab-and-go" solution for towing trailers or other equipment where the anchor point is not a delicate tree but a solid, fixed object. However, you must be aware that there are no neoprene sleeves or protective coatings mentioned for the webbing itself. If you wrap this around a tree, you are relying on the thickness of the polyester alone, which could still cause surface damage compared to the padded alternative. It is a workhorse for general towing and recovery, but it lacks the specialized environmental safeguards of the KING-PRO model.
• Best for tree protection → KING-PRO Tree Saver Strap, thanks to the neoprene sleeves and wide 3-inch webbing that prevents bark damage.
• Best for reach and angle → Lgsixe 2, as the 20-foot length allows for longer pull distances and varied recovery angles that an 8-foot strap cannot match.
• Best for quick hook-up → Lgsixe 2, since the included metal hooks allow for direct attachment to tow points without needing to tie knots or wrap multiple times.
• Best for off-road trail recovery → KING-PRO Tree Saver Strap, because its compact size and storage bag make it easy to carry in a rugged vehicle for immediate use on narrow trails.
• Best for general towing utility → Lgsixe 2, offering a higher degree of versatility for moving vehicles or equipment where tree preservation is not the priority.
• Best durability against abrasion → KING-PRO Tree Saver Strap, featuring vinyl coating and polyurethane eyes designed to resist cutting and fraying during heavy loads.
• Best value for occasional use → Lgsixe 2 provides a long strap with hooks for a broader range of tasks, whereas the KING-PRO is a specialized single-use item.
• Best for rideshare drivers → This depends on the scenario, but for roadside emergencies involving trees, the KING-PRO is safer; for flat-ground towing, the Lgsixe 2 is more practical.
I would buy the KING-PRO Tree Saver Strap if my primary goal was reliable, safe off-road recovery where protecting the environment is just as important as saving the vehicle. The inclusion of neoprene sleeves and the specific design for tree wrapping makes it the superior choice for anyone who respects nature while tackling tough trails. The 33,000-pound break strength gives me confidence that I am using professional-grade gear that won't fail when I need it most.
However, if I were driving a rideshare vehicle and needed a tool for general roadside assistance—pulling cars out of parking lots or helping friends on paved roads—the Lgsixe 2 would be my go-to. The 20-foot length and metal hooks offer a level of convenience and versatility that the short, wrapped strap simply cannot provide for everyday urban or suburban situations. Ultimately, I recommend the KING-PRO for the off-road purist and the Lgsixe 2 for the general utility driver. Both serve their purposes well, but they solve very different problems.
The Lgsixe 2 comes equipped with two metal hooks designed to attach directly to tow points and anchors, unlike many other straps that rely solely on eye loops.
No, the Lgsixe 2 does not list any protective sleeves or padding in its specifications, so it should not be used directly against tree bark without additional protection to prevent damage.
While possible due to its high strength rating, the 8-foot length is quite short for typical trailer towing; it is best reserved for vehicle recovery where the anchor point is close.
