"Kimonoworld" has been introducing Traditional Japanese culture 

around the world since 2000.

We believe international cultural exchange promotes mutual understanding, and brings world peace.

 “Kimonoworld” has talented performers. Members are professional technical experts or masters and their students. Our activities are volunteered, and we hope to enjoy communication with the local people.  We will fly anywhere for the people who want to experience wonderful traditional Japanese culture. 

      We are coming to Birmingham in England in  September in 2024.

Katie and Man produce this Kimonoworld 2024 in Birmingham tour. They schedule and work for everything for this tour. Katie organized Kimonoworld 2014 in Yorkshire, too.

Yutaka Azama

Jinsho Sawada 

Sawada style Tsugaru shamisen Jinshokai owner She teaches shamisen and folk songs at the Tsugaru shamisen class, and performs at various events. 

Sayaka Azama 

She belongs to Jinshokai and appears in various events with her mother Jinsho Sawada. 

Yua Fujima  

Her grandmother and mother are masters of the Soke-Fujima school. She has  been studying Japanese dance for 26 years. Her first stage performance was  at the National Theater at the age of two. Featured on TV and magazines. She is usually a "gyaru", which is part of Japanese culture. She had danced YOSAKOI-SRAN for 10 years.

Naomi Kasai

Naomi has been learning kimono dressing for 20 years, and participated Kimonoworld tour in 2009 in China. She likes koto playing, too. This time she will show you beautiful obi tying on the stage.

Miku Kasai

Miku took up koto playing at the age of five, and participated Kimonoworld tour in 2009 in China as a koto player. 

Goku

Goku is an actor, and he likes to travel around the world. It is his pleasure to come to England which is one of the most favorite contries. It is the first time to speak English on the stage as MC. He likes traditional Japanese dance, too. He will show you his powerful dance this time.

Miyuki

Miyuki is a hair beautician, make-up artist and kimono dresser. She has been working at a photo studio, and create various beautiful kimono ladies.  She uses traditional hair ornaments and traditional skills, and show you astonishing kimono culture.

Youme

Youme is a kimono instructor. She organized Kimonoworld since 1997, and has been introducing kimono culture around the  world and in Japan. It is her pleasure that kimono culture brings peaceful world.

History

June in 1997

Kimonoworld stated to introduce traditional Japanese culture in Japan. Kimonoworld's representative, Youme is a kimono instructor and has many students who are teachers and enthusiasts of traditional Japanese culture. Because it is a required skill for them to put on kimono by themselves.  She started to introduce Japanese culture for people from foreign countries from 1997 with them.  It was 2000 that Kimonoworld started to go abroad to share our Japanese culture with a lot of people around the world. We also have been  continuing the activities to introduce traditional Japanese culture for the people from other countries and Japanese people in Japan.

 World Tour

We held the first world tour in Maryland in US, and took this memorial photo in front of United States Capitol.

This time we built a large pine tree with lots of obi at Pateley bridge Playhouse. Alan built a large panel for the tree.

We brought two masters of brush writing, so did shodo at theater & school in 2007.

Students in pink kimono danced "Sakura" with koto. they were so beautiful.

Students volunteered as dancers. They danced  "Hanagasa-ondo" 

The Japanese teacher, Mr. Hamano invited us, and his students supported us.
