Presentations

I am passionate about education and how technology as a tool for learning provides our students with the ability to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in creative and different ways. Students can create, share and receive feedback from people beyond their classroom and school. It gives their learning relevance and longevity!

I am passionate about creating workshops that meet the specific needs of participants and are designed to help teachers develop their skills and knowledge in planning teaching and learning opportunities for our students of the 21st century.

Assessment that Matters-Elementary (Parts 1 and 2)

Students are now using technology to create and to demonstrate their learning in different ways; videos, collaborative documents, screencasts, audio recordings to name just a few. In this session we will begin to explore how to gather rich assessment information from student creations. We will also look at how to use that information to help improve student learning.

Exploring the SAMR Model

In this session we will look at some examples of student creations using technology as a tool for learning through the lens of the SAMR model. The goal of technology integration is to move from substitution through to redefinition so through this interactive session participants will leave with a better understanding of what substitution looks like and will have ideas on how to develop learning opportunities that allow for greater creativity and individuality.

Digital Portfolios: Redefine Assessment

Students are creating using the tools of technology. In this session we will explore the role of digital portfolios in helping students develop their digital legacy. We will also look at how the development of student portfolios provides teachers with amazing assessment information.
