The only things we're killing are imaginary monsters!
That's right, in the fantasy football game Blood Bowl, players (called "coaches") can have their miniatures (called "players") take a spiky football and run it into an opponent's end zone, scoring a touchdown. But the game encourages you to maim and slaighter along the way!
Every time Andrew (a.k.a. Spanky_100) causes a Casualty or a Death, he will contribute $2 at the end of the year to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. And the only ones who get killed are imaginary Orcs, Wights, Vampires, Dark Elves, Skeletons, Trolls, Rat Ogres, and the myriad other denizens that haunt the Blood Bowl pitch.
He began his quest at Khornemas Bowl IV in mid-December, 2025 and he will continue tallying his Casualties and Deaths until Khornemas Bowl V in mid-December of 2026.
4 Nations Cup
Just got home from a 2 day, 5 game tournament, the 4 Nations Cup in Repentigny (Greater Montreal). It was a great time. I was very happy with my Gnome team performance and came close to getting the Stunty Cup but was outperformed by our crafty webmaster and fellow gnome coach, Ian McKinley! Congrats brother!
In terms of K4K, I had 15 casualties so another $30 raised!
My Gnomes
The Gnome team I painted garnered some votes for the best-painted team at the 4 Nations Cup. I didn't win, but I don't mind because MAN! - was the best-painted team brilliant! Hell, that winning team was so good, I even voted for it!
I have to tip my red Gnome hat to TwiceProven (André). Bravo!
Rodney Roachbait
To bolser my Gnome team, I recruited two Star Players, Rodney Roachbait and Maple Highgrove. You can see from the photo just to the left that I was truly inspired when generating my own Maple miniature!
The Lazy Webmaster @ 4 Nations
Remember the promise of the lazy Webmaster to take Gnomes to the 4 Nations Cup and chip in $2 for every Casualty inflicted upon him Well, he respected his promise.
Both NotThePornGuy and I ended up choosing to coach Gnomes, and both of us rostered the Star Player Rodney Roachbait, so Ian proposed a side bet of $20 to see who could successfully use Rodney's star player ability the most. I won the bet 3 - 1 !
And in his last game, Ian managed to kill his renowned Elf Star Player Jordell Freshbreeze and one one of his Treemen by rolling One re-roll Ones, only to have TwiceProven (André) roll elevens and then tens to Casualty them both! And this occurred on successive turns!!!
And even better, Taxal put a bounty on our star players, contributing $30 in additional funding for each time someone Casualtied or Killed one of their star players! Thanks Dan.
Maple Highgrove
So, when I got to just over a week before the 4 Nations Cup, I needed to paint up a few models. A friend was kind enough to let me paint up Rodney Roachbait (see to the left), but I couldn't find a Maple Highgrove miniature anywhere. So, I decided to make a cartoon-like version.
It did the trick!
