I am Ki-Jung Kim, an Assistant Professor in the College of Business at Eastern Kentucky University. I received my PhD in Human Resources & Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois.
I study employment relations and human resources through the lens of organization and management theories. My research interests revolve around how the labor-management relationship is associated with employment externalization, voice effectiveness, and the ownership/governance structure. I am also interested in technological impacts on work and employment, job quality, and aging workforce. To probe these topics,
One of my goals as a researcher is to generate valuable insights that can address real-world problems. Recognizing that such problems transcend disciplinary boundaries, I approach them with an interdisciplinary perspective and methodology. As a result, my work is not confined solely to micro or macro analysis. I strive to be well-versed in multiple levels of analysis, thereby advancing practical and academic knowledge alike.
Beyond my academic pursuits, I have diverse interests that include computer games, movies, history, hiking, travel, and golf, among others.
